Pokemon :: FIGHT!

Pokemon :: Fight by Allison Franks

This month’s piece:

For me the best part of Pokemon has always been the fights! So I created this Super Smash Bros. style epic Pokemon battle piece. The base is my take on Pokemon stadium (from the games) and features a hand-painted poke-ball on a small wooden base. The “Fight!” banner was made using thick paper and has been drilled into the base, while the tiny Pokemon fighters are firmly glued into place. I don’t know about you…but I’m personally rooting for Entei!

Bio:

Hi there! My name is Allison Franks and I’m a craftoholic. (No, seriously)

I live for art, adventure, comics, and travel. But most of all I’m hopelessly addicted to creating totally bizarre jewelry that’ll make people turn around and say, “Are those babies in frying pans on your ears?”.

So I guess you could say I’m a 20-something small business owner living in Spring Branch,TX with a BA in Anthropology. And I guess you could say I’m quite happy about that. But all that really matters is that I’m having the time of my life just being me!

Pokemon :: Oddish

Pokemon :: Oddish by John “Hex” Carter

About the piece-I kind of have an ongoing Pokedex project going on. It’s where I experiment with digital art. This is a style I’m still playing with. I think it came out well. :) ODDISH!

About Hex- Hi! I’m Hex!! I’m a nerdy artist based out of Orlando, FL with a focus on video game and comic art. I play around with any form of art I can get my hands on, though my current favorite media are digital, acrylic, and watercolor. I don’t have a sexy website yet, but feel free to peruse my art over at jiggity-john-t.deviantart.com

May the 4th :: Jedi Gunslinger

May the 4th :: Jedi Gunslinger by Max Acree

About the piece- The Gunslinger is an original character I was working on for awhile after I decided I was tired of hating on Midi-chlorians for the last decade.  His deal was going to be that he extracts them from dead bodies and injects them in himself in order to increase his own force capabilities.

About the Artist- I’ve been drawing most of my life, though I never took a formal art class until I got to college.  I got my BA in Studio Art from USF with an emphasis in Printmaking, and then I got my Master’s in Interactive Entertainment from the Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy in Orlando.  I spent a few years making educational video games, and now I’m a software producer working in the business sector.  My wife and I currently reside in Louisiana with our two lovely cats.  You can follow my work at www.maxacree.com and www.maxacree.tumblr.com
